Stockholm, Sweden, October 15, 2016 – China’s Single Day blowout has been dubbed the world’s biggest shopping day and this year ‘s 11/11 was no exception with online retailers enjoying massive sales across every product category. Blueair, which helps millions of people worldwide breathe cleaner, healthier indoor air, smashed every previous sales record with its full of array of air purifiers flying off the e-commerce shelves as consumers from all over China rushed to buy the Swedish brand’s clean air units for their homes.
“Air purifiers turnover during the sales blowout on November 11 rose 113.1% this year compared to 2015 and Blueair notched over RMB 100 million in sales ranking the company among the absolute top in our category,” said Blueair China General Manager Sam Li. Blueair also for the first time ranked among the top five small household appliances on the TMALL e-commerce platform.
Chinese consumers fell in a big way for the Blueair 550E, which is designed for rooms sized up to 72 square meter. It also made the top five in pre-sale air purifier purchasing.
Over 100 million Chinese consumers tuned into the Alibaba Group 11/11 warm-up event in the city of Shenzen, which was live-streamed over the internet and broadcast on television. Blueair sponsored 5,000 of its Classic 270E Slim units that were auctioned during the interactive sessions of the gala evening.
“The level of interest shown in Blueair was unprecedented with millions of hits on our home page in China, thanks in part to the deepened understanding among Chinese consumers of the health threats posed by polluted air, both outdoors and inside homes and workplaces,” said Sam Li.
